How I'm turning my next chapter into a beauty and travel UGC business
Trina Marie is a beauty, lifestyle and travel UGC creator in Fort Myers, an empty-nester turning her content into a business. She used to track pitches and deliverables in notes and spreadsheets. On Plug she is building one page with her best samples, running her pitching from one place, and paying a flat fee with no cut of her deals.
“The flat-fee, no-cut model was a big part of why I said yes, because I like knowing exactly what I'm getting.”
Where I started
I got into UGC because I already loved creating polished, relatable content and wanted to turn that into something more intentional. Right now my content is a mix of beauty, lifestyle, and travel, with a grounded, big-sister feel.
I'm an empty-nester. Both of my kids have graduated college and are working, so my focus now is on my own passions.
What was getting in the way
Before Plug, I was mostly tracking things in notes and spreadsheets, which gets messy fast once you start juggling pitches, deliverables, and follow-ups. The most annoying part of the business side has always been keeping everything organized in one place and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Why Plug
The flat-fee, no-cut model was a big part of why I said yes, because I like knowing exactly what I'm getting. I also liked that it gives me one place to manage the pitching side instead of piecing it together myself.
I like knowing exactly what I'm getting.
How I'm using it right now
I'm building out my page with my best samples and using it to keep my pitching process more organized. I like that it gives me a cleaner way to present myself instead of sending brands a scattered mix of links.

What's next
The next brand I want to land is Kopari Beauty. Over the next 12 months my goal is to make my UGC business more consistent and streamlined.
I want to keep building with brands that value polished content and a real point of view. I would love a few retainer projects.
The organization and simplicity.
How much easier it feels to keep everything in one place.
Keep it clear, keep it professional, and make sure your content reflects the kind of work you actually want to be hired for.
